    Jim Lytle was, until his 2023 retirement, a Partner and Senior Counsel in the Albany, New York City and Boston offices of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP, a national law and consulting firm.  He provided health law and governmental relations representation to a broad array of clients with interests before the New York State Legislature, the executive branch, and the courts.  He was a Fellow with the Advanced Leadership Initiative at Harvard and was an adjunct professor at NYU Law School and New York Medical College. He served as Assistant Counsel for Health and Human Services for Governor Mario Cuomo, was the founding director of the Volunteer Legal Services Project in Rochester, NY and was an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan.  After graduating from Princeton University, he received his JD from Harvard Law School. He is a member of the boards of the Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy (SCAA), the Mental Health Association of New York State, FAIR Health, Exceptional Lives and DonateLife NYS, was a former Chair of the Health Law Section of the NYS Bar Association and is on the advisory boards to Harvard’s Petrie-Flom Center and the Transplant Institute at NYU Langone.
